The 16th Annual River of Light Lantern Parade - December 6, 2025 - 5:00 PM
This exciting and popular community event will be held this year on Saturday, December 6th in downtown Waterbury, Vermont. The theme for the parade this year is "wheels and wings". We hope you will join in the celebration by either making a lantern and marching, or cheering us on from the sidelines! As always, MakerSphere is offering free lantern-making workshops for all ages. See details and register here.

The parade begins at 5:00 pm with marchers leaving from Brookside Primary School on Stowe Street, proceeding right onto N. Main Street, and then concluding at Dascomb Rowe Field. The night finishes with hot cocao and live entertainment.
About A River of Light
Every December since 2010, community members of all ages have been coming together to celebrate and participate in the excitement of the River of Light Lantern Parade and festivities! In addition to enjoying the lengthy stream of enchanting lanterns, community members can gather at the parade's destination for hot chocolate, a bonfire, and entertainment such as Cirque de Fuego - fire spinners. Past years have included Burlington's street Samba band, Sambatucada, which has led the procession and are often joined by Burlington's Brass Balagan. This is a great night of community gathering and family fun!
